Job Title: Head of Finance & Accounting – North America Location: Houston, TX or Atlanta, GA Industry: Logistics & Supply Chain Position Overview: Our client, a fast-growing logistics provider, is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Head of Finance & Accounting to lead financial operations across North America. Based in Atlanta or Houston, this executive-level role will oversee the full spectrum of financial activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance. The role is instrumental in supporting the company’s rapid growth and ensuring financial integrity and scalability across the region. Key Responsibilities: Provide strategic financial leadership and direction across North American operations, ensuring alignment with the company’s broader goals and objectives. Oversee all core finance functions including general accounting, payables, receivables, cash flow management, and tax compliance. Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes in accordance with company and regulatory standards. Manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling activities to support business planning and decision-making. Deliver accurate and timely financial reports to senior leadership and relevant stakeholders. Implement and maintain robust internal controls, accounting processes, and financial systems. Collaborate closely with operational teams to improve financial performance, cost-efficiency, and operational visibility. Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing finance and accounting team across North America. Support external audits, ensure compliance with financial regulations, and liaise with auditors and authorities as necessary. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or MBA preferred. Minimum of 10 years of progressive finance and accounting experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role. Prior experience in the logistics or freight forwarding industry is required. Hands-on experience with CargoWise is strongly preferred, including financial modules and system integration. In-depth knowledge of US GAAP, tax regulations, and compliance standards. Proven track record in managing full-cycle accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning. Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and develop high-performing teams. Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Experience with ERP and financial systems, with a preference for candidates familiar with automation and process improvement. Location Requirements: This role is based in Atlanta, GA or Houston, TX . Occasional travel within North America may be required.
