The Market Manager at Amrize is responsible for developing and executing business strategies to increase market share and sustain customer relationships in the North American construction materials sector. The role involves technical support, territory marketing and sales leadership, and performance monitoring of company and competitor products. Frequent travel and adherence to strict safety protocols are required to ensure the successful management of key accounts and sales opportunities.
COMPANY OVERVIEW Amrize is planning to spin-off its North American Business to unleash its full potential, capitalizing on North America's oversized growth in construction led by the modernization of infrastructure, a surge in advanced manufacturing and AI operation and the growth of resilient cities. Amrize plans to list the new company on the NYSE by the end of the first half of 2025 and establish its operations headquarters in the US to be fully dedicated to serving the North American market and pursue a growth strategy across the region. The newly listed company will become North America's leading building solutions company, with industry-leading market position to meet its customers' greatest ambitions with the most advanced building solutions from foundation to rooftop.
ABOUT THE ROLE The Market Manager is an individual contributor role with territory management and technical responsibilities. The overall responsibilities of this role are to develop and sustain a business strategy designed to gain and protect market share, provide basic technical service to Amrize customers within territory, lead the territory Marketing and Sales efforts within the Business Unit, and monitor the quality and performance of Amrize and competitive products in the territory. The position involves travel as needed to meet with customers and attend business unit and district meetings.
WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH - Demonstrates a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas.
- Creates clear business strategy for key accounts (e.g. increase share, account penetration, protect existing base, etc.)
- Develops, maintains and strengthens customer relationships
- Develops revenue and product goals which are time-bound, realistic and achievable
- Understands how to deliver value to customers (Performance Innovations if applicable) and uses value selling strategies
- Develops plans to maximize potential of accounts, and efficient use of time; uses good account management practices
- Provides technical assistance and utilizes resources as needed to satisfy basic product and customer issues
- Resolves basic customer product and technical problems
- Gathers territory intelligence on all market products and creates a realistic succession pipeline of customers that can be sold if other volumes are lost
- Tracking and management of major sales opportunities as they progress through the selling process
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR Education: Bachelors degree or 3 years equivalent experience
Field of Study Preferred: Business, Engineering, or equivalent degree Required Work Experience: 3-5 years in the construction materials industry
Cement/concrete strongly preferred
Required Computer and Software Skills: Google suite, SAP, Salesforce, Qlikview
Travel Requirements: 10-15%
Additional Requirements: Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
