Job Details We are currently seeking a dynamic, detail-oriented Construction Accountant to join our team in the construction industry. This role provides an exciting opportunity to be a part of a growing company, offering a fast-paced environment where your financial expertise will have a direct impact on our operations and our bottom line. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, with a particular focus on job costing, reconciliation, GAAP, Excel, and fixed asset management. This position requires at least 5 years of experience in a similar role. Responsibilities: As an Accountant, your duties will include but are not limited to:

  1. Managing all aspects of job costing, ensuring accurate and timely reporting on project financials.
  2. Performing monthly account reconciliations to confirm the accuracy of our financial data.
  3. Ensuring compliance with GAAP in all accounting procedures and financial reporting.
  4. Utilizing Excel for financial analysis, data management, and reporting.
  5. Overseeing fixed asset accounting, including recording acquisitions and disposals, calculating depreciation, and tracking assets.
  6. Supporting the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  7. Assisting with internal and external audits by providing necessary information and preparing requested documentations.
  8. Collaborating with project managers to forecast project costs and analyze profit margins.
  9. Identifying and suggesting process improvements to optimize accounting operations.
Qualifications: To be successful in this role, you will need:
  1. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, preferably in the construction industry.
  3. Solid understanding of job costing and experience in managing large-scale project budgets.
  4. Proficient in GAAP and other accounting principles and procedures.
  5. Advanced skills in Excel, including pivot tables, vlookups, and complex formulas.
  6. Experience with fixed asset accounting and management.
  7. Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to spot numerical errors.
  8. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  9. Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  10. Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
