About The Boston Conservatory at Berklee: Founded in 1867, Boston Conservatory is the nation’s oldest performing arts conservatory to offer fully accredited programs in dance, music, and theater that train exceptional young performing artists for careers that enrich and transform the human experience. Known for its multidisciplinary environment and deep community engagement, the school is internationally recognized as an innovative leader among conservatory programs. In 2016, the Conservatory merged with Berklee to form the most comprehensive performing arts institution in the world. The Theater Division comprises a Dean, a Chair, an Assistant Chair, a Project Manager, a faculty of 70+ teachers, and a roster of accompanists. The division serves approximately 280 students enrolled in B.F.A. programs in Musical Theater and Contemporary Theater. Responsibilities include leadership and management of the Theater Division, advocacy, budget tracking, faculty hiring and supervision, event planning, curriculum and program development, student advising, recruitment, and fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion. The Chair will maintain a teaching load of one or two courses per semester and collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure the division's success. Essential qualifications include extensive experience in theater and musical theater production and curriculum design, leadership skills, higher education administration experience, and a commitment to diversity and inclusion. The position is a 12-month administrative role with a renewable three-year contract starting August 15, 2025.
