General Purpose

Responsible for managing and supervising all areas assigned by the Store Manager, following policies related to Customers, Associates, and merchandising. Responsible for learning all phases of Store operations. In the absence of the Store Manager, the Assistant Manager leads the entire Store to ensure standards are met.

Essential Functions

  1. General Operating Requirements: Leads all Best Practices, assists in report analysis, manages scheduling, ensures compliance with regulations, handles payroll, and accepts special assignments.
  2. Organizational Development: Assists in recruiting, training, developing staff, and addressing Associate Relations issues.
  3. Expense Control: Monitors expenditures, controls payroll hours, and manages budget adherence.
  4. Maintaining a Safe & Secure Environment: Prioritizes safety, ensures emergency procedures are understood, and maintains safety policies.
  5. Customer Service: Ensures respectful interactions, trains staff, and supervises customer service activities.
  6. Personal and Store Brand: Represents the brand professionally, maintains store appearance, and enforces dress code.
  7. Merchandise Processing and In-Store Marketing: Oversees merchandise presentation, markdowns, and processing timelines.
  8. Loss Prevention: Trains staff on Loss Prevention, safeguards assets, and participates in inventory processes.

Qualifications And Skills:

  • At least 2 years of Store or Assistant Store Manager experience in retail.
  • Ability to supervise, motivate, and communicate positively.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize, and exercise independent judgment.
  • High-quality Customer service skills.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Availability to work evenings and weekends.
  • Basic math skills used in retail environments.

Physical Requirements/ADA:

  • Ability to operate store equipment and spend significant time standing and moving.
  • Ability to lift over 25 lbs. occasionally.
  • Use of janitorial and display equipment.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Direct supervision of all non-exempt Associates.

Compensation & Benefits: The base pay range is $21.45 - $24.02, depending on experience and location. This is part of a comprehensive compensation package.
